Participant Waiver: The Shadow Work(out)

By registering for and participating in the The Shadow Work(out), I acknowledge that I am voluntarily engaging in physical activity and assume all risks associated with exercise, including but not limited to injury, strain, or physical discomfort.

I affirm that I am physically able to participate in this workout and understand that it is my responsibility to listen to my body, modify movements as needed, and stop if I experience pain or discomfort.

I understand this workout is offered by UNcivilized Inc. as a free community event and is to be performed at my own pace, in my own space, and without the supervision of an athletic trainer. I release Traver Boehm, UNcivilized Inc., its team members, and affiliates from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses that may arise from my participation.

I agree to take full responsibility for my safety and well-being throughout the duration of the workout and the 49 breaths of silence that follow.

By continuing, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this waiver.

On Day 39 of Traver Boehm’s 49-day dark retreat, we’re calling on the greater UNcivilized community to rise up—in movement and in solidarity to help give him strength and support for the final 10 days of his time in darkness as we workout alongside him.

This is more than a workout. It’s a ritual. A way to honor the darkness he’s sitting in by confronting your own discomfort, one rep at a time.

You won’t need a gym. Just your body, a blindfold, your breath, and your willingness to show up.

It’s simple, but not easy. Just like a dark retreat. Beautiful.

Three rounds. Seven movements. All bodyweight. And when you’re finished, you’ll lie in stillness for 49 breaths—one for every day Traver has committed to the dark.

This is about unity. Discipline. Presence.
This is about doing hard things with your brothers around the world.
